Questions
The things people usually want to know. If yours isn't here, send us a message — we'd rather answer it twice than have you guess.
The basics
When should I RSVP by?
Please let us know by 16 October 2026. We have to give the venue final numbers shortly after that, and every head is counted.
Can I change my answer after I've sent it?
Yes. Come back to the RSVP page any time before the deadline, look yourself up again, and your answers will be there to edit. After the deadline, drop us a message instead.
What's the invite code, and where do I find it?
Five characters printed on your invitation, just under your name — something like ABC12. It's what opens your RSVP, and it's how we make sure nobody replies on anyone else's behalf. If we sent you a link, the code is already in it and you won't have to type anything.
I've lost my invite code.
It happens constantly. Email us at jdvdb.jmv@gmail.com with your name and we'll send it straight back — usually within the hour.
Why do you need an email address for each of us?
So we can send everyone the details directly — final timings, directions, and anything that changes — rather than relying on one person per family to pass it on. We'll only use it for the wedding, and we won't give it to anyone.
What's the Friday golf?
A relaxed round at St Francis Links the day before, for anyone who'd like to play. Joshua is organising it — tick the box on your RSVP and he'll be in touch with a tee time and what it'll cost. No obligation at all.
Who's invited
Can I bring a plus one?
Your invitation lists everyone we've been able to include, and the RSVP page will show you exactly who that is. We'd love to host everyone, but the barn has a limit and so does the budget. If you think we've missed someone, please ask — we'd rather fix it than have you wonder.
Are children welcome?
We've kept the day adults-only, so as much as we love them, we're asking that children sit this one out — we hope it gives you a night off.
On the day
What time should I arrive?
Aim to be at the farm by 14:30. The ceremony starts at 15:30 and we'd hate for you to miss it. The last stretch is farm road, so give yourself ten extra minutes.
What's the dress code?
Black tie.
Is the ceremony outside?
Yes — outside, under umbrellas, so you'll be shaded rather than sitting in the afternoon sun. There's a covered plan B inside the barn if February decides to be dramatic. Either way, dinner and dancing are indoors.
Will there be parking?
Plenty, in a marked field at the farm.
Can I take photographs?
During the ceremony, please put your phone away — we've paid a professional to get those shots and we'd love to see your faces in them. After that, photograph everything, and share it with us.
Food & drink
I have a dietary requirement.
There's a box for it on the RSVP form, for each person. Please be specific — allergy, intolerance, preference, and how serious it is. Dinner is a buffet so there's no dish to choose, but the kitchen genuinely reads these and caters for them.
Is there a bar?
Yes — a cash bar at the reception.
Getting there & home
How do I get to the venue?
The farm is roughly 55 minutes from Port Elizabeth airport, 12 minutes from Jeffreys Bay and 14 minutes from St Francis Bay. Full directions, flights and shuttle details are on the Travel page.
Is there a shuttle?
Not one we're running, but there are good local cab and shuttle operators and we've put their details on the Travel page. Book directly with them a few days ahead — the farm is out of town and February is busy.
Where should I stay?
Jeffreys Bay is closest to the farm and the cheapest; St Francis Bay is the prettiest place to base yourself; Cape St Francis is the quietest and has the best beach walk. All three are on the Travel page with links. Book early — February is peak season on this coast.
Still stuck?

Genuinely, we don't mind. There is no question too small.
